Now in its 12th year of operation, Trent’s Drains has become one of the South West’s most trusted drainage clearance companies – celebrating major growth in fleet, team size, and turnover.
What began in 2013 as a father-and-son startup founded by Mark and Louis Trent has rapidly scaled into a business targeting £5 million in turnover in 2024. After seeing incredible profit within the last few years, Trent’s Drains continues to invest heavily in both people and infrastructure to meet rising demand from national contracts.
A critical component in this success has been its specialist fleet of high-performance jetting vans, which support the delivery of 24/7 drainage services across the UK. Since 2015, Vanaways has played a vital role in building and evolving that fleet to match Trent’s needs at every stage of growth.
Liam Nicholas, Business Development Manager at Vanaways, has worked closely with Trent’s Drains for a full decade – supplying over a dozen specialist vans designed to handle the weight and power demands of high-pressure water jetting systems, with tailored spec and comfort for long-distance travel.
The current fleet sits at over 30 engineers on the road, all operating from Trent’s base in Bishopsworth, Bristol. With a growing van fleet and support team, Trent’s Drains is fully equipped to deliver a fast, reliable response to both domestic and commercial clients nationwide.
Jozef Przytocki, Operations Manager at Trent’s Drains, says working with a vehicle supplier that understands their technical and operational needs has been essential.
“We’ve gone through a few different makes and models of vans… In the drainage industry with the equipment we have on board, there’s a lot of weight to carry so we’ve had to find a van that would suit our needs”.
“At the beginning Mark and Louis didn’t have the contacts of where to go for their vans,” said Jozef. “Liam came along, who we worked with for many years, he then took us across to Vanaways from his old company and we never looked back”.
“Liam’s been great, he’s always checked in and is always on the hunt for new deals. If Louis and Mark need or new van, or anything for that matter Liam is the first person they call, and he answers straight away – his communication is great”.
Liam Nicholas says the strength of the partnership is built on trust, flexibility, and deep understanding.
