Engines and Spec
Let’s jump straight in and take a look under the bonnet. The Peugeot e-Expert is, of course, all-electric, powered by a 100kW (136hp) motor capable of delivering 260 Nm of torque. This provides a beautifully smooth driving experience and, owing to the peppiness of electric motors, impressive acceleration.
Moreover, Peugeot offers drivers the choice between a 50kWh or 75kWh battery pack. Vehicles fitted with the smaller battery have an official range of 143 miles, while those packing the larger version offer up to 211 miles. There’s no denying that these stats are seriously impressive; the e-Expert offers one of the highest electric van ranges of all time.
In terms of payload, volume and specifications, the e-Expert continues to deliver. Even with such mighty battery packs, the e-Expert still offers over a tonne of payload, on all models! Vehicle capacity ranges from 1,001kg, up to a whopping 1,226kg, depending on battery size and trim.
In terms of drivability and comfort, the e-Expert is, again, impressive. The electric motor offers a smooth, responsive experience, despite the bulky hull and sizable payload. This van is perfect for short journeys and longer days on the road.
Interior
Inside the e-Expert’s cabin, both driver and passengers are greeted by a feeling of quality. This is, largely, down to the fact that the Expert range was designed with an electric version in mind from the onset. The instrument cluster is intuitive and helpful, showing energy levels, speed and battery usage.
Where the e-Expert falls short is in-cab storage and space. For those seeking an abundance of room, the e-Expert may not be an ideal choice. However, this van is perfect for those who don’t mind a cosier cab.
It is definitely worth noting that what this van may lack in spaciousness, it more than compensates for in terms of technology and safety functions. One of the most impressive features is certainly the 7” capacitive colour touchscreen, allowing driver and passenger to easily access all the van’s electric functionality as well as 3D navigation, smartphone connectivity and USB port.
